1st QuarterThe Season

A perfect year, top to bottom

The 2025–26 season was the most complete in program history — not because one team was great, but because every team was. Two undefeated squads under a Region 3 champion is a thing most programs never see once.

Freshman A
25–0

Undefeated. Relentless defensive discipline and a selfless offense that left opponents with no answers — the next generation, already playing to the standard.

Junior Varsity
27–0

Perfect. The backbone of the program, matching varsity intensity for 27 straight games and dictating the pace of every matchup they entered.

Varsity
30–7

14–0 in District 23-6A. Region 3 Champions. Fourth in the state after a 63–61 semifinal against Brennan. Sophomore Anthony Key made the UIL 6A-D1 All-Tournament Team.

The next chapter

Six seniors moved on from the 2025–26 team — four to college basketball, two on academic scholarship. That mix is the program's real pitch to families: it sends players to the next level, and it sends students to good schools.

Carsen Edwards

The name that put Atascocita basketball on the map. Edwards' freshman year was Coach Martinez's first, and his senior season — 26.3 points, 5.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds a game — carried the 38–1 Eagles to the 2016 state final. He went to Purdue, then to the NBA with Boston. His No. 3 hangs in the gym.

Together, we build more than just a team; we build a family. Your support and encouragement are the foundation of our success. AHS Coaching Staff
2nd QuarterThe People

Coach David Martinez

Head coach at Atascocita since 2012. In fourteen seasons he has turned a young program into one of the most consistent in Texas — a playoff team every single year, four state tournament appearances, and 604 career wins.

Martinez started as a volunteer at his alma mater, John Jay High School, in 1996. He helped turn around DeSoto and was part of its 2003 state championship staff, took his first head job at Clear Brook in 2004, then Humble, then Atascocita. He picked up his 500th career win during the 2024–25 season and sits at 604 today. Of those, 399 have come at Atascocita — his fourteen seasons here are 399–103.

The program's identity comes from him: The A Way. Eagle Mentality. Trust the Process. We Take Charges. It shows up in the standings, and it shows up in where his seniors go next.

Boys soccer also reached the UIL state final against Klein Cain. Atascocita is an athletics department that competes for titles across the board, not just on the court.

Tradition lives here

Past, present, future. Every Eagle who has signed to play college basketball since the program's early years, the academic scholarships alongside them, and the eight who went on to play for a living. The Class of 2026 is the deepest the program has sent out at once — six seniors, three of them to Division I basketball.
